SACRED to the memory ofc JANE,
the youngest daughter of
the Honble John Blair
and beloved wife of James Henderson.
Mournful and with tears he hath erected
this last gift of love and conjugal affection.
She died 19th Decr 1800.
Aged 40 years.

Having been distinguished for her piety,
affection, prudence and suavity of manners
At her feet are deposited the bodies
of her three infant children.

James Blair born 29th Octr 1795,
and lived only 21 days.
John Blair, born 25th Feby 1797,
and died 17th April following and
Blair Munro, born 30th July 1800
and died 4th May 1801.

In the adjoining grave lies deposited
with her husband whatever was mortal of
JEAN BLAIR
who was born 26th Octr 1736, O.S.
and died 22nd Novr 1792.

Her conduct through life was truly exemplary and
amiable in discharging all the relative duties of her
(station as a wife, a mother and a friend; and her piety
s)hone forth with peculiar lustre (during a protracted,)
painful, and distressing (illness, which she) sustained
without a murmur, with (entire resignation) and
acknowledgements of the divine (mercy and goodness;)
and (fervent) prayers to be released, and, (resigned her)
spirit to GOD who gave it.

Her lies interred
the body of JAMES BLAIR
son of the Honble John Blair,
a youth distinguished for the uniform purity
of his morals, accompanied with ingenuous modesty
and the most winning mildness of temper and manners.
He was born the 9th of June 1770
and died the 25th Octr 1791.

SACREd to the memory of
Hon(ble) JOHN BLAIR
eldest son of the Hon(ble) John Blair
formerly President of the (Council &)
General (Court) of Virginia.
Soon after his admission to the bar, he
was appointed Clerk of the Council, which office
he resigned on the Commencement of our
great Revolutionary contest. (From that period he)
was honored with a variety of the most important
public appointments, the duties (of which he discharged)
with acknowledged (talents, singular integrity and universal)
approbation; to the last office, (whic he filled, associate)
Judge of the Supreme Court (of the United States.) he
was selected, from the (Court of Appeals of Virginia,)
by that distinguished judge (of merit, the father of his)
country, Gen(l) Washington. He (was a) rare instance
of the influence of mild and polished manners united
with upright conduct, and flowing from a (heart) devoid
of guile or the resentments and (Passions) of mankind,
as it is believed he never excited enmity nor lost (a)
Friend. He died, as he had lived, a (sin)cere and pious
Christian with (entire) resignation to the will of his
Creator, and in confident expectation of another and
better life, on the 31st August 1800.
Aged 68 years & 10 months.

Late Minister of St. JOHNS Parish
in the County of King William.
She departed this Life the 23d of September
1725 in the 60th year of her Age.

Here also Rests
The Body of MARY BLAIR Grand Daughter
of ye Said JOHN & CHRISTIAN MONRO
by their only Surviving Child
MARY ye Wife of JOHN BLAIR Esqr
She departed ye 1st April 1730 in the
Second year of her Age.
Also
SARAH Another Daughter of the
Said JOHN & MARY BLAIR who died Febr
The 19th 1935 Aged 3 months & 12
Days.

Beneath this Marble lie
deposited the Bodies of
two sweet Infants,
JAMES and ANNE BLAIR
Children of JOHN BLAIR
Esqr and MARY his wife
who to the great grief of
(t)heir Parens and friends
departed this life
JAMES on May the 22d, 1740
aged 10 year 3 months & 3 days
ANNE on octobr the 7th 1741
aged 3 year wanting 3 weeks

son of the said JOHN & MARY
BLAIR who died Sepr 19th 1744
